Who makes up the board?
- The board is composed of a diverse group of both undergraduate and graduate students. All students on the board are selected through an application and interview process.
- The Vice President for Student Life and the Student Life Staff liaison to the board will be present at the Orientation Retreat and all subsequent meetings.
- Additional individuals from across the University of Michigan may attend as invited guests.
What are the requirements?
- Term: One-year renewable terms (September–August).
- Mandatory Orientation Retreat: Topics that students would like to address over the course of the year will be discussed at the retreat.
- Meetings: Meetings are every three weeks on Wednesday evenings and run from September–April.
- Participation: Regular participation is important to the group. If you miss more than two meetings, you may be dismissed from the board.
- Minutes: Notes from each meeting will be shared via Google Drive for members to view. This will include any presentations or proposals presented to the group.

Applications for the 2026–27 Advisory Board are closed.
Applications for the 2027–28 Advisory Board open in late spring 2027.
