There are many ways to find support and get the help you need on campus. Whether you have questions, are facing challenges, or want someone to speak up for you, we’re here and ready to help. Explore what’s available to make the most of your college experience and help you thrive at U-M.

When something comes up, it helps to know where to turn. These Student Life units provide resources, support, and advocacy when you need it.

Get help when you need it

The Student Support and Critical Incident Response team helps students navigate emergencies, connect with resources, and get back on track after unexpected events. If you or someone you know is facing a tough situation or needs urgent support, reach out—you’re not alone.

Additional Programs

    Housed in the Dean of Students Office, Campus Climate Support helps students navigate campus climate concerns that impact belonging, inclusion, and well-being. Reports can be made online, in person, or by phone.

    Whether you’re looking for event details, campus maps, or answers about campus life, friendly staff and student Resource Navigators can connect you to the information and resources you need.

    The Collegiate Recovery Program provides a supportive community for students in recovery from alcohol and other drug use, and for students exploring what recovery could look like for them.

Finding and fostering community: Michigan Housing’s Multicultural Lounges

Feeling far from home, Elsa Olander found comfort and community in Ambatana – The Afro American Multicultural Lounge in South Quad. Her story shows how art, culture, and shared spaces can help every student feel they truly belong at U-M.
