Laura Blake Jones, Ph.D.

Laura Blake Jones, Ph.D., has been a leader in the Division of Student Life since 2009 and currently serves as Associate Vice President and Dean of Students. She oversees a broad range of student programs, services, and critical student support initiatives.

Before joining Michigan, she was Associate Dean of Students at the University of Oregon and worked in residence life at the University of California’s Berkeley and Davis campuses. With a career in student affairs that spans over 30 years, she is committed to helping students succeed both academically and personally.

Blake Jones has a bachelor’s degree from Miami University, a master’s from the University of Vermont, and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon, all in fields related to education and higher education leadership. Outside of work, she enjoys sports and helping build community.
