Martino Harmon, Ph.D.

Martino Harmon, Ph.D., has served as the Vice President of Student Life at the University of Michigan since 2020. Under his leadership, Student Life has advanced strategic priorities that include sustainability, financial modeling, and communications and marketing. Passionate about students’ holistic well-being, he was instrumental in U-M’s adoption of the Okanagan Charter, committing to being a health-promoting campus.

Before coming to Michigan, Harmon was Senior Vice President for Student Affairs at Iowa State University and has held leadership roles at several other colleges and universities.

He earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate from The University of Toledo, studying business administration, human resource development, and higher education. Outside of work, he enjoys football, music, and traveling.
